**Health Guarantee**
Every puppy sold comes with a health guarantee. Within 10 days of acquiring your new puppy, it is essential to take him or her to a licensed veterinarian for an examination. Should the veterinarian determine, within this 10-day window, that your dog is clinically ill or has passed away due to an injury or illness likely contracted on or before the date of purchase and delivery, you are entitled to the following options:
- Return the dog for a full refund
- Return the dog for a replacement of equal value
- Keep the dog and receive reimbursement for reasonable veterinary fees, not exceeding the adoption price
These options do not apply if the owner, who has provided a health certificate issued by a veterinarian, discloses in writing at the time of sale any health issues for which the adoptee later seeks to return the dog. Additionally, if within 30 days of purchase a licensed veterinarian identifies a congenital or hereditary defect that adversely affects your dog’s health, or if your dog dies from such a defect, you will have the same options listed above. You are required to inform the owner of the examining veterinarian’s name, address, and phone number within 2 days of the vet certifying your dog’s illness. Failure to notify the owner within 2 business days will result in the forfeiture of your rights.
By purchasing a puppy from us, you agree to the following:
1. The puppy must be promptly taken to the vet. It's crucial to ensure that he or she is healthy and does not require veterinary attention. We ask that this initial visit occur within 48 hours of the puppy’s arrival. This will help identify any issues that may have arisen during shipping and ensure your veterinarian is familiar with your puppy should any situation arise.
2. We cannot be held accountable for a puppy's exposure to diseases once it has left our care. It's crucial to be mindful of where you take your puppy and who interacts with it. Ensure that the puppy is not exposed to areas that have previously had infestations or environments with high disease exposure risk. Treat your puppy with the same level of care you would give to a newborn baby.
3. To validate the guarantee, your puppy must be examined by a veterinarian of your choice, at your expense, within 48 hours of arrival. This examination should verify that your puppy was healthy upon reaching you. If any signs of illness are present, seek veterinary attention immediately.
4. If your puppy is shipped, it has undergone a veterinary check and received a health certificate. It has received at least its first vaccinations, often a series before being delivered to you. While the puppy has been de-wormed, this does not guarantee it is worm-free, as young animals are particularly vulnerable to worms, coming into contact with them every time they touch the ground. Ongoing de-worming will be necessary once the puppy enters your care, along with follow-up vaccinations. It is vital to stay on top of both vaccinations and de-worming.
5. If the puppy is diagnosed by a vet with a congenital or hereditary defect that poses a life-threatening condition, please provide the breeder with a vet-signed statement of the defect. The puppy will then be replaced with the first available puppy of equivalent value as soon as possible. The original puppy must be returned before a replacement can be provided.
6. The breeder is not liable for any veterinary expenses incurred by the purchaser regarding the purchased puppy.
7. This guarantee becomes null and void if the puppy is sold to a third party or if standard precautions are not observed.
8. Particularly with smaller breeds, stress may cause a drop in the puppy's sugar levels to dangerous levels. It is the new owner's responsibility to monitor the puppy's sugar levels closely and take appropriate action should this occur. The new owner must ensure that this condition does not negatively impact the puppy, as the breeder cannot be held responsible for any issues arising from negligence in this area.
9. The new owner acknowledges and accepts the puppy's previous medical history. It is the new owner's responsibility to seek veterinary advice when necessary, as well as to cover the associated costs. From the moment the puppy leaves the breeder’s possession, all responsibility for veterinary bills and the puppy's care lies with the purchaser. In the event of the puppy's death, the breeder reserves the right to request an autopsy at the purchaser’s expense. Should it be determined that the death was due to the breeder's fault based on initial lab results from a licensed veterinarian, a replacement puppy will be provided by the breeder.
10. Should a puppy need to be replaced, the breeder will promptly provide a healthy puppy of equal quality as soon as one becomes available. The new owner will be responsible for all shipping costs associated with returning the first puppy to the breeder, as well as for shipping the second puppy to their location. If the purchaser declines a replacement puppy, the health guarantee will become null and void.
11. We collaborate closely with our veterinarians to ensure the well-being of our puppies. They have received all vaccinations and dewormings as documented in our shot records. These vaccinations are administered by the breeder in accordance with the vet-recommended immunization schedule. We will only list the shots that your puppy has received. It is important to recognize that these vaccinations have been given, and you should continue to follow the vaccination schedule recommended by your veterinarian. Administering excessive immunizations or neglecting previously given ones can negatively impact your puppy’s health.
12. Our puppies will come with a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian prior to departure and will undergo a thorough vet check. While we take every measure to ensure our puppies' health, please note that our health guarantee does not cover “kennel cough,” coccidia, diarrhea, collapsed trachea, giardia, open fontanel, or parasites.
